As a designer and a creative leader Clancy Boyer’s work displays a well-packaged skill set of story-telling, design experience and strategic thinking. This work has manifested itself in a variety of areas, to include Publishing, Consumer Packaged Goods, Sporting Goods, Real Estate Development and Retail Experiences. In these areas he has integrated design thinking and planning, market trends, user needs, brand strategy and design development to create dynamic brand solutions across multiple consumer touch-points.
Over the years he has had the privilege to work with world-class companies and design firms alike. In the Mid-west he spent time at Big Red Rooster in Columbus, Ohio, where he led multidisciplinary teams to provide omni-channel retail solutions for brands like eBay, Saucony, Sunglass Hut, and T-Mobile; this followed four years at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.
While at P&G he served as a Senior Design Manager with a range of responsibilities across several brands which included primary responsibilities on PUR Water Filtration and the Vicks brand. With PUR, Clancy spear-headed the re-branding effort that included a 12 week innovation session at P&G’s highly acclaimed Clay Street; a freshening up of the PUR brand-mark and packaging (which resulted in four design patents), as well as working closely with the marketing and broader communications team to develop strategy for the re-launch of the brand along with creating and implementing a product pipe-line. With the Vicks brand his primary responsibility was working closely with marketing and R&D in exploring and researching whitespace opportunities in the respiratory category as well as seeing the young Nature Fusion brand get off to a healthy start with all of its assets harmoniously intact.
Out West he had the enviable opportunities to work with Teague in Seattle, Washington and Ziba in Portland, Oregon. This work resulted in steadfast brand stewardship through branded product design and award winning branded environments. Prior to these ventures, Clancy worked with and lead teams in global design and brand management with Nike. There his work resulted in recognition for creating one of the most iconic product lines in the history of Nike and led to four design and utility patents. Prior to this, he worked with numerous global advertising and marketing firms, including Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB Worldwide and Wieden+Kennedy. This broad experience working with both the client and the agency has given him a unique perspective and understanding of global markets and how clients can better position themselves to compete. The following work demonstrates this successfully.
